Ufton Court is a charming historic barn and Grade One listed manor house set in beautiful gardens between the Berkshire and Hampshire borders. It is a popular wedding and events venue and I am delighted to be a recommended Upton Court Wedding Photographer. Ufton Court kindly states that I can be relied upon to help create a magical day.
Ufton Court is a photographer’s dream with its beautifully manicured grounds and outdoor terrace over looking the sunken garden, and plenty of fabulous backdrops to take photos against. There are so many to choose from but I love the romantic herb garden and there is some stunning light by the old ice house. We know all the best photo opportunities here!
We were delighted to capture Mitchell and Rebecca’s autumn wedding here…
The Wedding Preparations at Ufton Court and De Vere Wokefield Estate
Rebecca and Mitchell’s special day unfolded in two locations as they prepared for their celebrations.
Rebecca and her bridal crew got ready at De Vere Wokefield Estate. An impressive manor house set in 250 acres of parkland just near Reading in Berkshire.
Rebecca’s bridal party were in matching burnt orange dresses with a floral design and held pretty dried flower posies, perfect for an autumnal wedding.
Rebecca’s cascading bridal bouquet was a glorious mix of autumn foliage, bracken, pine cones, roses, berries and an ornamental pink cabbage created by Julia at Heartbee Flowers based in Winchester.
As the girls were getting wedding ready at Wokefield Estate, the boys were at Ufton Court where my second shooter, the lovely Sarah, was documenting Mitchell and his friends. If you do have two locations I always recommend booking a second shooter so we can cover so much more of your wedding day including getting ready, and different angles during the ceremony, and just more coverage in general.
The boys wore warm toned grey three piece suits with brown brogues and dried flower buttonholes, the autumn tones blended perfectly with the bridal party colours.
The Wedding Ceremony at Tithe Barn, Ufton Court
Rebecca and Mitchell hosted their wedding ceremony in the historical tithe barn. It was a beautiful civil ceremony by the local West Berkshire Registrar where they exchanged their heartfelt vows in front of family and friends. I loved how the barn was decorated with fairy lights and paper lanterns in burnt orange, soft yellows and white which radiated such a warm rustic ambience. It truly is a beautiful venue I enjoy photographing and capturing each wedding here as they are all so unique.
It was one of those gloriously sunny autumn days allowing the celebrations to spill out onto the terrace for drinks and canapés as the wedding guests celebrated with Rebecca and Mitchell. Everyone loved the transport – a double decker bus from The Big Red Bus Company provided the perfect photo opportunity.
The drinks reception was the perfect time for the family, wedding party, and couple portraits as Rebecca and Mitchell wanted to relax and have fun once the formal photos were done and let us candidly capture their day. Usually you should expect to allow just 20 minutes for family portraits and it’s a good idea to have the best man or usher on hand who knows who family members are so this can be done efficiently.
The Wedding Celebrations at Ufton Court
Following the ceremony, post ceremony drinks and canapés guests were invited to be seated in the Tithe barn for a delicious wedding breakfast prepared by Fosters Catering.
Rebecca and Mitchell opted for a sweetheart table for two and everyone enjoyed the speeches, which were full of emotions with plenty of laughter.
Autumn’s natural beauty provided the perfect backdrop for enchanting photography. Capturing the essence of the seasons is a passion of mine, and Rebecca and Mitchell’s autumn wedding truly showcased nature’s artistry.
If you’re envisioning a wedding that embraces the magic of each season, I’d love to chat and help make your day as memorable as theirs.
