A Riverside wedding in Windsor, Berkshire
Once they discovered Oakley court, a wedding photographer was next on the agenda for Gemma and Alex. Today they share the story of their Oakley Court wedding, and working with me as their wedding photographer.
“We feel so lucky to have met Annabel at a wedding fayre at our venue Oakley Court. We instantly liked her warm, friendly demeanor and appreciated both her enthusiasm and confidence in her skill as a wedding photographer. We looked at the recommended suppliers linked with the venue and some other photographers, but we were won over by her elegant and romantic style.
We had an engagement shoot where we got to know Annabel a little more. After this we felt even more comfortable in the knowledge that we had made the right choice. Annabel was wonderful throughout several changes to our wedding date (due to covid-19): flexible, accommodating and understanding. On the day, she captured moments that we had missed, working seamlessly and blending into the day, often unnoticed. She organised our guests for group photographs and several guests commented on how lovely and brilliant she was.
Ultimately, the proof is in the pudding, and we couldn’t be more delighted with the photographs. We’ve shared our photos with some family and friends – one commented on how we didn’t take a bad photo. I can assure you, this is not the case, just the pure magic of Annabel being the talented wedding photographer that she is. Another is convinced the photos could easily be found on the front of bridal magazines. If you’re considering using Annabel as your photographer, waiver no more because you won’t be disappointed.”
Gemma and Alex’s summer wedding at Oakley Court in Windsor will instantly transport you back to warmer climates and sunnier days. Looking at their wedding photos reminds me why I love being an Oakley Court Wedding Photographer – what a stunning venue. The couple had their very first date in Windsor, so knew it would be the perfect place to celebrate their love story. The venue was ideally located between both families. Hosted on a dreamy day in August, the couple’s hearts were captured by this magnificent Berkshire wedding venue. Oakley Hall has an idyllic riverside location and endless photography opportunities.
The bride dazzled in the Romy wedding dress by Essence Designs, with hair and make-up beautifully styled by Sam Sheppard. Alex and his groomsmen looked smart in traditional morning suits and pinstriped trousers. The groom and the best man even finished their look with top hats. The bridesmaids looked completely exquisite in mint green gowns. This tied in with their mint green, white and cream ivory theme, beautifully accented by hints of gold.
A very talented family friend was on hand to work his floral magic for their wedding flowers. The highlight was a stunning floral archway for Gemma and Alex’s ceremony backdrop. An elegant white aisle runner led the bride-to-be to her groom. Guests sat on stylish chairs with spotted tie back covers for extra detail. Lance, their pianist, performed gracefully throughout their ceremony, along with the reception drinks and wedding breakfast. Pegs & Pearl were on hand to create the most elegant on the day wedding stationery.
Following their heartfelt ceremony, guests drifted to the lawn with the newlyweds to tuck into delicious canapés and fizz by the river. The sun shone down and offered the perfect opportunity for me to capture some gorgeous portrait shots and group photographs. Ian Souch, a magician, also provided the most unique entertainment, wowing everyone throughout the drinks reception.
Gemma and Alex spoilt their friends and family with a mouth-watering wedding breakfast and edible wedding favours, handmade by the bride’s mum (Jenny’s Iced Gems). The mother of the bride also whipped up the most incredible four-tiered wedding cake which was carefully adorned with sugar flowers and luxurious gold leaf detailing. Sponges consisted of lemon and elderflower, vanilla and salted caramel, chocolate fudge and white chocolate infused with raspberry layers.
DAFT, an epic band, got everyone on the dance-floor, with lots of live music and DJ sets throughout. Gemma and Alex had to alter their date a number of times due to COVID-19, but it really was a celebration to remember when they were finally allowed to have the day of their lives. It was a huge pleasure to capture their special day on I camera and I’ll never tire of looking back at their wedding.
