Spring wedding at Rivervale Barn – As Seen On TV!

Featured, Weddings

ITV reported the wedding during an evening news clip and on the ITV.com website which featured my images.

The story is about the amazing wedding of Benjamin and Jessica Whitfield who had to wait nearly three years to get married due to Covid and the welcome addition to their family, baby Theo.

Wedding Postponements

This Hampshire couple had originally booked the venue, and myself as their wedding photographer, videographer, wedding dress, cake, florist back in 2019.

As we all know, the Covid lockdown that started in 2020 meant that many weddings were cancelled. Benjamin and Jessica replanned their wedding for 2021 but had to reschedule once again when the restrictions remained in place. This meant a major disruption to their plans and was a massive disappointment for the couple.

However, life went on and there was a very pleasant surprise for them in the form of the birth of a new baby boy.

A Welcome Addition To The Family

Jessica and Benjamin had been trying for a baby and struggling to conceive. Jessica fell pregnant during the time between the first wedding date and the second planned date.

Baby Theodore was born late in 2021 and the wedding was replanned for March 2022 at The Riverdale Barn.

The Perfect Setting For A Hampshire Wedding

Riverdale Barn is a fantastic location for a wedding and is somewhere I have worked many times as a wedding photographer. If you’re wanting to get married in Hampshire, this stylish venue is worth considering. The spacious ceremony room was the ideal setting for what Benjamin and Jessica had planned for their wedding day.

Baby Theodore’s Leading Role

After everything that had happened, Benjamin and Jessica wanted to ensure that their son played a role on their wedding day.

This was certainly achieved as a highlight of the ceremony was Theodore arriving in a remote-controlled mini ‘Bentley’ car. The ‘Bentley’ featured a sporty design in distinctive sleek black paint with a sign on the back of the car reading “Time to give mummy our last name.”

ITV picked up on the story and showed the video of Theodore arriving in his car on the evening news slot.

The Perfect Wedding Day

Despite waiting over nine hundred days to finally get married, Jessica and Benjamin had a fantastic day which was well worth the wait – describing it as ‘perfect’.

I love to cover weddings like this – it was a fantastic day and it was great to see this couple having such a great time with their family and friends. Thanks to Jessica and Benjamin for allowing the video and images to be shared about their special day.

Annabel was a great photographer at our wedding – she was not only on time (key for all of those early “getting-ready” snaps that us girls love), but she also made everyone feel so at ease throughout the day!

From the first moment we spoke to her we knew we were in good hands. The best part was that Annabel sent us a checklist of things that we should think about before we had even booked our venue (!) – the list was not only helpful in picking out what style of photos we wanted, but it pretty much helped us arrange the whole wedding day and allowed us to think about all of those little touches! I would highly recommend Annabel if you are looking for a professional, easy going and friendly photographer to take those special moment photos during your day that you don’t even notice are being taken. Thank you Annabel – we absolutely love our photos”.
